The gazebo the Golden Witch sat at was quiet, except for the downpour of light rain and the occasional sips of tea from the witch herself. She had succeeded in her first game, and had most of the next game ready. However, since she had spent so much time on it, she had decided to reward herself with a short break in her Golden Land. In this short break, it dawned upon Eli that she was indeed a very lonely witch with only her furniture on her side, and that only her furniture seemed to like her as she was. Her tea felt surprisingly too hot at this realization. "Come, arise... Yune."
She verbally and mentally called for her sole male furniture, hiding her vulnerability with her usual cryptic smile. "If you're wondering why you're here, I'd like some amusing company." His tendency to rebel against her would probably bother any other witch, but Eli found it to be endearing, and reminded her of herself so long ago. He even was Russian like herself, so he honestly was a suitable furniture for her.

Yune stepped into the room with a terse expression on his face. He didn't want to be here, he could be doing anything but this, but no he was stuck. What utter tripe. He could spit he was so annoyed. He raised an eyebrow at amusing company then made a noise of annoyance, his blonde hair slipping back from it's drooping position over his eye.
"Amusing company. You're so high headed." He huffed, but said nothing more, looking away from the blonde witch.

Upon her furniture's appearance, Eli chuckled, expecting every sort of complaint from him. Definite teenage rebellion, she thought. Her rebellion was becoming a witch, and she assumed that his would be trying to win love and become human, as that one furniture with purple hair was doing. "I figure I have the right to be haughty, Yune, seeing as I've won my game this time," she laughed heartily. "The next game might be tougher, since they should know the rules, but we'll see."
She waved her fan, conjuring up a second cup of tea, and the tea pot poured some hot tea into it. "You could do worse than drinking tea with a monster like me... for example, you could have tea with the witches who are betting on my death."

Yune huffed looking away, posture rigid and mind elsewhere. He wanted to be anywhere but here. Maybe he could sneak away and find a river to freeze to skate on.. Hopefully he wouldn't be interrupted, but he highly doubted it. Being furniture was the lowest of the low and he just wanted out. He'd do anything.. Well nearly anything to escape from Eli's grasp on his life.
"Whatever, killing games are bullshit anyways. Humans aren't smart enough to outlast a witch's onslaught." Yune muttered, despite being human himself, though he knew few humans with ice manipulation.

"That's true, but maybe after so many times, one could break through my game. I don't know what would happen to you, Lucifer, and 06 if I ever have my heart stopped..." Eli sighed wistfully, pouring herself another cup of tea. "There's a cup for you, by the way."
She rested her head on her hand, and pushed her hat back up her head once it started sliding. "I'd like to think that you guys would be free to cause trouble as you'd like, or that a nicer witch would take you in. Also..." She conjured up a small box. "It's not quite a Valentine's gift, since it's late, but I figured you'd like a pin that looks like an ice skate versus chocolate. ХОРОШО."

Yune shrugged off the tea, he could do without it. He'd prefer a cold soda or something to the bland leaf water, but he perked up at the gift. He was almost shocked that Eli even tried to give gifts out to her furniture, let alone the rebelling ones. And yet here the box was plain as day. How.. strange..
"Why the hell did you get me this?" He almost spat, opening the box to reveal the simple silver ice skate pin, as the light glinted off it's shiny surface.

Still as bemused as ever, Eli conjured up some cookies to go along with the tea as a sort of bribe to get her rebellious furniture to sit with her for this small chat. "I may be a monster, but I do have a heart, Yune. I do care about my furniture, and I don't see what's wrong with rewarding them for their service with a gift every now and then. Maybe I'll even gift you the chance of ascending above furniture status," the Golden Witch tacked on a bit of her usual rudeness at the end, wondering if her kindness was getting too weird for him. Plus, the whole being a witch meant that any kindness had to be covered up by haughty behavior.
"The girls got chocolates, and I figured you'd like a token connected to your hobby." Eli nibbled at a macaron, waiting to gauge Yune's reaction. "Even though you are a rebellious teenager, you do serve me, and I appreciate it... Yune."

A chance to ascend above furniture status? What did that mean exactly? Was he.. possibly able to escape this hell of an island??? He raised an eyebrow but sat with Eli to hear more. "Ascend above..?" His voice was incredulous and his tone confused but hopeful. Would this mean he could finally leave? He could achieve his dream of becoming a figure skater in the real world, and compete in competitions like he used to before his Grandpa got sick. But only if Eli allowed, he knew, but he hoped that perhaps Eli would be lenient for once in her many years.

Eli mentally sighed in relief, glad he had focused on those words rather than her words of gratitude. "What do you think Mone's trying to do? She made a contract with me to tear down the barrier between her and Chieri-their statuses anyway-and now Mone's able to receive the most important element of the world." She giggled behind her fan. "That element which allows furniture to become human... is love. And not merely platonic love, but romantic love."
Eli closed her fan to waved it around. "That element would allow furniture like yourself to achieve those dreams you want. Well, if you actually were able to pursue them." She laughed before adding, "Of course, you'd need to fall in love first and try to begin something with a human for me to even build up a basis for our contract..." There was one human in particular she was willing to play matchmaker for to give Yune a shot at being human, but that detail, she'd leave out.

Love..? Oh fuck. "You.. You can't be serious." Yune huffed looking away. "Love isn't a thing, it's just hormones clouding your judgement and making it harder to be rational about the decisions you must make through life. A ball and chain if you will." He looked out the window longingly and sighed. "But it's the only way out isn't it?"

"'Fraid so, Yune," Eli couldn't resist cackling, and took a bit to regain her more regal composure. "I unfortunately don't make the rules on how furniture become human. I personally agree with you, Yune. If a man ever came for me on a white horse, I'd kill him. I wouldn't give up hope, yet, though. If somebody could fall in love with somebody as predictable and boring as Mone, there's someone out there whose tastes must be exactly what you match." Eli finally stood up to stretch her legs out.
She touched a hand to her face curiously. "As your witch, I'm obligated to at least open up the chance for you to ascend beyond furniture. You saw that odd little brooch Mone carries? As long as she has it, it has some sort of magic to her that allows her to have a romantic rendezvous with that woman she loves. Though since you actually serve under me, I'm rewarding you for your service, and you won't have to do some favor like Mone did." Mone kept the shrine and most of the mansion free from spiderwebs, so Eli could go about the island as she wished.

Yune huffed, glaring up at Eli with a twitch in his eye. "Well why so nice all of a sudden? It's rather unlike you Mrs Spider." His eyes narrowed suspiciously. "Is this another one of your games? I don't trust this.."

"Indeed... It might be all a part of an elaborate plan to cause as much discord on this island as possible... to cause trouble with the higher witches and subvert their expectations..." Eli leaned against one of the columns of the gazebo, her eyes fixating on the rain in her Golden Land. "This niceness could all just be a part of a whim, and as soon as it goes away, I could go back to my usual ruthless torturing."
Eli laughed, not even quite sure why she was in such a generous mood. "I think it might pertain to meeting a particularly charming human child who was kind to me. His kindness must have rubbed off on me, even if for just this brief whim. I suppose that could be the favor I could ask of you... please don't let that cute blond boy die."

"Kch, fine so be it. Which blonde boy are we talking about anyhow?" Yune griped, looking away from his master with disdain. What a pain, he'd rather be anywhere but here. And yet here he was, contractually obligated, but still here nevertheless.
