Kyouko Kirigiri stared at the small bag of chocolate, analyzing them through the plastic wrapping. She found the sweets just randomly appear in front of her while she was looking through some old files about the island. She wasn't sure who would have given them to her but, what concerned her more was if they were poisoned in someway or not. If they were safe, she was most likely still going to throw them in the trash.
"Hmmm..."

Shingetsu clutched a bag of chocolates in one of his small hands and a bigger bag of chocolates in the other. He had intended to give candies to the servants he had managed to get close to, but a bag of chocolate had appeared before him earlier, and it puzzled him. It made him wonder if magic was indeed real, and though the serious side of him didn't believe, he was still a kid and that part of him believed that witches could exist. He was intending to go to the archives to nibble on the chocolates, but an older person-one of the guests, he surmised, as she wasn't in a maid costume or any sort of uniform-caught his eye, as she too held a similar bag of chocolate to his.
"Excuse me, Big Sister, but I saw that you got one of these bags, too, and I can't help but wonder where these came from," he said to her. "Mine just seemed to appear from nowhere."

The detective didn't even hear the little boy come up behind her until he finally spoke up. She looked back at him, seeing him holding bags of chocolate. One of them was in the same plastic baggy, just like hers. 'How curious.' She thought. Who could have done this? Kyouko had a bad feeling that she wouldn't be able to get the answer.
"Yeah... the same thing happened to me." She replied. "I was just wondering who could have left them." She added. She was about to engage more into the conversation until she paused and analyzed what he said. He... called her 'Big Sister'? Well, that was random. She has always been an only child and just hearing those words felt really weird. "Wait, you called me big sister?" She asked, kneeling down so the two could talk better, face to face.

The very appearance of other chocolates made Shingetsu, well, a small part of him, wonder if magic was abundant on this island as the servants had said. Being a realistic kid, he hadn't really believed magic was real-not until this chocolates bag had appeared. "... Perhaps someone had pulled a sleight of hand tricks," he murmured.
"Ah, I'm sorry, I'm used to addressing my seniors as Big Sister or Big Brother at school," Shingetsu sputtered out an apology, silently cursing himself for reverting to those childish quirks he had tried to give up.

"I was suspecting that maybe one of the servants gave it to us.." She said. It seemed to be the most logical answer but, there wasn't much proof to go by and it still raised questions as to why any of the servants would just pass out chocolates. Perhaps it wasn't as big of a deal as she made it out to be. "It's alright, don't worry about it." She replied. She stood straight back up, looking down at him for a moment. Where was his parents, she wondered.

It seemed like a logical answer, especially with how some of the servants seemed to be the type to prank people. "I really want to believe in your explanation, especially with how creepy the idea of magical creatures putting the chocolates there is," Shingetsu admitted. "The stories I've heard from the servants really seem like they believe in magic and the witch, but maybe it's an elaborate attempt to get people in on a prank...?" His voice trailed up at the end, his fears winning over the logical explanation. "... I really hope you're right, Big Sister..."
Shingetsu pinched his own cheek, ashamed at how childish he was acting. "I'm sorry, I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Nagisa Hoshijo, but you can call me Shingetsu if you like, since until recently, people always called me by my old last name."

She almost felt like snickering. She didn't mean to be rude but, the idea of people still believing in magic amused her. Then again, she was talking to a child so, at the same time, it shouldn't be that surprising. However, he seemed to be a smart little boy. "They probably are just trying to scare you or something along those lines. I wouldn't take it too seriously." She replied. She smiled a little at the fact he called her big sister again. It was strange that she found it kind of cute but, then again, she did have a soft spot for children.
"It's alright. I'm Kyouko Kirgiri. It's nice to meet you Shingetsu." She said, introducing herself and bowing softly.

Shingetsu gripped his scarf tightly, his mind trying to accept that magic was just something the servants were saying existed as a sort of prank. A prank... that made sense, since a lot older people wanted to take advantage of how young Shingetsu was to get him to fall for things. It upset him quite a bit that they got a sort of enjoyment out of teasing a child. He pushed his fear to the back of his mind and looked at his chocolates.
"It's nice to meet you, Big Sis Kyouko..." His eyes looked over the bag of chocolates. "Do you think we should go and ask the servants and see which one was playing this childish prank?"

"I don't think that's necessary." She replied. "As long as these chocolates aren't poisoned, there's no harm in it." She added. Speaking of which, she should probably check that. She took a piece of the sweet from the bad, bringing it up to her nose and sniffing it. She didn't smell anything, so it's nothing obvious. However, there could be something hidden that wouldn't have a scent. She would have to go to her office and make sure, better to be safe than sorry...
