At dinner on the very first night, there came a knock at the door to the main part of the dining room, and one of the older servants went to check the door. They were astonished by an elegant hand extending a letter to them, and watched in amazement as the witch herself vanished into the dark of the mansion. The servant brought the letter to Angelo, who read the letter's contents to all the guests, furniture, and servants present.
"Dear guests of Ayashima,
I am the night ruler of this island, Eli Ayase the Golden and Endless Witch. Many years ago, I helped a younger Yurri Kishin enrich the island so it would be a prosperous resort island, and I intend to have him repay the favor back now. If someone does not solve the mystery of the epitaph, I cannot promise that any of you, the Kishin clan and guests included, will survive once the ritual to resurrect me is over. However, if one solves the epitaph before the final twilight on my epitaph, I shall reward the one who solves it with thirty tons of gold and the right to be my successor, along with the right to rule over Ayashima as its true ruler. I shall restate my intentions once again: I intend to follow the ritual on my epitaph to resurrect myself, but I shall stop the resurrection ritual, if someone were to solve the mystery of my epitaph. I wish all of you children of man, furniture, and servants the best of luck. One way, or another, I shall succeed in getting the living beings on this island-bar animals-in recognizing my name.
Harasho,
Eli the Golden and Endless Witch"
