The epitaph remained unsolved, and thus, there were no survivors to witness the rebirth of the witch, Eli, when the clock struck midnight on that final night. However, voices called to certain people, and only a select few from the island were chosen to have tea with the true master of Ayashima, and they were gathered around the tea table in what appeared to be the parlor of the main mansion, happily discussing what could have gone right in the game. Welcome to the witch's tea party.
~~~~~
Mone poured tea into everybody's cups, happily humming one of her lover's songs. While she was no longer furniture, she still chose to use the blessed name she was given, simply because only Chieri and a select few servants were allowed to know her true name. Playing the role of tea hostess just came naturally to her. "Please, enjoy the tea and snacks," she implored in a soft tone. "That game... it certainly was brutal... I didn't think things could get more violent after my murder... but I most certainly was surprised..."
Veronica blinked, surprised to see Mone alive again. This wasn't right.. Something wasn't right here. She looked around at the fellow guests surrounding her in silence. Something was off. Something...
Mikan shook her head to make sure she was seeing things correctly. Mone... was alive? But... But... She saw her laid out in the barn like a prisoner on death row! She held her head, examining her half-torn, smiling face! "M...M...M...Mone, right?" Tsumiki implored as she sat down to put a few treats in her mouth. "What happened? I thought you died? I'm.. sorry for asking..."
"All shall reunite in the Golden Land..." Aine said from a seat beside Mone. "Something like that, right?" She frowned. "Seriously Mone, you died too early! How was I supposed to protect anything without your help? The Golden Witch Eli-sama is a strong opponent after all."
Mone bowed apologetically at Aine. "I'm sorry, Aine-chan. I had thought that my death would have prevented many, like yours and Chieri-sama's. I guess Eli-sama is too fickle of a witch to be satisfied with killing just six people, yan. At least she was kind enough to resurrect us." She touched her lips in a soft laugh. "There's an old Japanese idiom that says 'people die when they are killed', and it simply means that somebody can endure a whole lot, so that really applies to Aine-chan and me here, doesn't it?" She was certain Aine had caught on, but the way the other humans were really questioning things was definitely causing a tense mood, despite Mone's smile. She, however, continued to smile, almost harshly, as if to say, "If you know what's good for you, don't."
Mikan dropped a macaron that she had held in her hand. The red-haired servant was here too? What exactly was going on? Is everyone who was dead going to be here? Was she in the realm of nonexistence that her Mistress spoke endlessly about?! Was she dead? So many questions and not enough answers! "Mone-sama? Where... are... we.. exactly?"
Cry had sat quietly long enough to observe everyone and everything around her. They obviously weren't anywhere normal- Mone was supposed to be dead, Aine was supposed to be dead. She touched their bodies, smelled their rotting flesh. Peeled off their fingernails after their bodies had grotesquely swelled to almost bursting point. "You're not the detective here, are you, Mikan?," she asked finally, gently pushing away the tea and sitting casually in one of the chairs, her right leg crossed over her right as she crossed her arms over her chest, leaning back. "We're obviously not anywhere normal. Those two should be dead," she said simply, motioning to the purple haired furniture, along with the redhead. "Is this part of 'Eli's' plan? Sorry for the questions, but if I'm to feel comfortable, I have to know exactly what's going on." Tapping her foot against her leg, her eyes bore into the purple haired girl's eyes.
Mone felt like she was in a deep conundrum. While she didn't intend to cause any further havoc by answering questions that could upset Eli-after all, she had died to try to protect the other servants and her loved one, and look how far that went-the witch herself had ordered her to allow any detective or investigator to ask questions about Eli's game to make their deductions. Her green eyes shifted a bit, before the orders the witch had given her superseded her own safety.
"... That is true, Cry. She brought all of us here... as part of her plan. Do you recall the part of the past few days where she left a note that said 'Glorify my name'?" She clasped her hands together, digging her nails into her skin. "Eli-sama... wants everyone here to recognize her..."
"But as what, is the question," she huffed, tilting her head slightly before she reached up, adjusting her glasses. "It's obvious that if we were brought into a place such as this, with you two alive once again, then she's no regular being." Letting out a soft sigh, the brunette then shook her head and closed her eyes. "Nevertheless, why were we brought here? There has to be a reason we found ourselves in this type of predicament." She could tell that Mone was getting increasingly more worried, which usually meant she had something to hide. But this was simply a guess, in Cry's case. So, instead of badgering the poor, previously dead girl with questions, she decided she would stop after that one for the time being. This was obviously supposed to be a gathering- But for what? And why? She hadn't formulated any answers just yet.
"Recognize her?! What kind of bullshit is this?!" Veronica couldn't take much more of this. She stood quickly, and angrily yelled to honestly no one. "This is utter crap!! All these people died for some bitch to get recognized?! Hell, how are they even back?! You can't just explain that shit away with fairy tale bullshit! None of that crap is real! The world is shit and then you die, fairytales and witches and all that crap are bullshit!"
"Fuck me gently with a chainsaw!! This Eli bitch better be scared to show her face to me!! Because of her my best friend and his little brother are fucking DEAD. I don't give a shit if she thinks she's some mythic bitch with ~~magical powers~~ I'll kick her fucking ass in!!"
Mone cringed at Veronica's outburst, and clutched her knees to her chest. Well, things were peaceful while they had lasted, and her eyes observed golden butterflies appear behind the two investigative pieces. "E-Eli-sama... please forgive her... she doesn't understand...!" the purple-haired girl pleaded as the butterflies swirled, forming the outline of a young woman. "Please... have mercy...!!"
The Golden Witch herself stepped towards the tea table once she'd taken her human form, observing everyone with a bemused smile. She touched her fan to her lips, and gave a quick glance at the furniture before turning to face the investigative pieces. "It's been quite a while since I've met such amusing humans..." She curtsied for them, almost mockingly, and took a seat in an unoccupied chair. She tried to disguise a certain amount of grimacing behind her teeth with her fan. "I thought I had sent a letter the night before the first twilight stating my intentions to begin my ritual. My mistake."
"Well your post got lost in the mail, boo fricking hoo. What the hell's your problem?!" Veronica growled, glaring down the blonde haired witch with seething hatred behind her brown eyes. "What's it, like, your KINK to watch people die in gruesome ways for your own sick twisted fantasies?? That's like shit out of a horror movie, or at least out of some stupid cult classic black comedy or some shit!!"
The nurse recoiled from Cry talking to her, as almost as if she was insulted. "Cry-sama... please forgive me for not knowing my place, detective-sama..." Mikan bowed her head slightly and hesitated, as if she was waiting for forgiveness. However, she knew that it would never come. People like her didn't deserve forgiveness. Now, her question had been answered. Allegedly, they were summoned to glorify Eli. "Uhm... I think that we'd better do our best and recognize the name of the Witch... it would be nice if none of us had to suffer anymore..." She timidly rebutted against Veronica. She agreed that life wasn't blissful - her life was the exact opposite of bliss - however, that doesn't mean that it could change.
In the meantime, another familiar face had arrived to the tea party. "Salutations, my fellow and former workers," the black haired woman, in whom most recognized as Amane. "I truly hope that I have not missed anything." She walked over towards the disbelieving Veronica and whispered, "On the ninth twilight, the witch shall revive, and none shall be left alive." Amane, or Celeste - oh how she missed that name - smirked as if she was threatening the piece.
"WOULD ALL OF YOU SHUT THE FUCK UP?!" She snapped at Mikan and Amane angrily, eyes fired up in rage. "I'm sick of all this pander-y bullshit! There's no such thing as witches, there's no such thing as magic, and this bitch!!" Her head turned quickly to face Eli again, teeth gritted in a tight scowl. "This bitch needs to pay for what he did to Will!!!"
Amane sighed, putting the noise of the nurse's constant squealing and apologizing to the background. Unlike the nurse, the furniture felt no such guilt - or anything really - to her statement. All she could do was make out a hearty laugh and smirk. "Miss Veronica, let us assume, for a moment, that you are right. That there is no witch among us. That this moment is simply a figment of your imagination. How would you have explained the murders? The culprits? Your friend's suicide..." Celeste smirked again and looked towards the witch.
