With the death of Otonashi Ryouko alongside the death of Hoshijo Nagisa and Will Byers, one could only assume that the witch's plan to cause discord had been pulled off. The day passed, and the next midnight arrived, signalling the start of the eighth twilight.
In the morning, a certain young girl spotted something from the window, and immediately told the servants about it, prompting them (and the three investigative pieces still remaining) to go check upon the shed of the first twilight. While Yurri Kishin's corpse had been thrown in the furnace a few days before, a new body was placed next to the shed, the corpse lying face down with one of her hands resting on another corpse's. With a stake wedged into her leg and a large gash in her back, presumably from a sharp object, anybody interested in idol music could easily tell that this corpse belonged to Sono Chieri, as nothing else on her was destroyed, quite unlike the face of the girl whose hand she was holding. The eighth twilight has commenced.
~~~~~~~~
It sickened her to her stomach, and Hanayo couldn't get much sleep last night. Much to her surprise, she'd followed the servants of the household in the rain to the shed, and forced herself to look at the bodies, particularly the new one. Maybe she could help the three women who were investigating, but most of all, her desire to remember the dead (and not just for points with her favorite artist) burned strong. She'd do all she could to help catch this murderer.
Surprisingly, this time, Cry was the first detective on the scene. Following Hanayo outside, the brunette soon also came to the shed, only to slow to a stop when she saw the body of the idol Chieri Sono.
"Oh, no...," she whispered, the young girl realizing that since she was the only detective technically 'on duty', she was going to go at it alone. This put her in a dangerous situation, but...
"Hanayo." Clenching her fists at her side, she lowered her head slightly. "... H... Help me. Please. If you can... I'd appreciate it..."
Hanayo clenched her firsts, trying to steel herself again. "... Yes... I'll do what I can to help you... Cry..." She really was trying her hardest to channel that weird bravery present in the heroes of her favorite manga, and she took a deep breath to get herself ready. "Should we... move Chieri-chan's body into the shed... to um, protect her from... the elements?" she asked the detective present.
With a soft nod, the brunette sniffled softly, fighting the oncoming tears. "Yeah, good idea," she said softly, reaching down to roll the idol's deceased body before picking her up bridal style. As expected, the other corpses had started to reek by now, causing Cry to grimace as she moved Chieri's body into the shed. "Ugh... We should probably get some face masks, or something...," she muttered, gagging quietly at the horrid stench.
Hanayo nodded, putting one of her sleeves over nose as she pinched her nose to try to avoid the odor of the rotting corpses. "I-I'll ask if any of the servants can get us some face masks..." It seemed pretty clear how Chieri had been murdered, though Hanayo wasn't exactly qualified to make such judgment calls. "I hope we can catch the culprit.... so the families can have closure..." It was really depressing to think about how many families had lost their loved ones over the course of the past few days. "We should also get the key to the shed from one of the servants..."
